Victim Got Self To ER After Being Shot In Both Arms On Main Street

A witness reported anonymously that the victim was shot while parked in his BMW in front of the Bracy Apartments on Main Street.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Investigators are asking for the public's help identifying a shooter involved in gun violence near a municipal housing authority apartment campus on Main Street.

On Friday, around 10:42 p.m., the New Rochelle Police Department received a report of a man shot in the arm in the 300 block of Main Street. The caller said the victim may have fled into a residence at the nearby Bracy Apartments.

While officers searched the area for the victim, Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital notified police of a gunshot wound victim who had walked into their emergency room. The victim, a 21- year-old New Rochelle resident, had a single gunshot wound that went through both his left and right forearms.

Police say the victim has not cooperated with the investigation.

Officers located a 2020 BMW 4-door sedan with a bullet hole in the driver's side window and a spent 9mm shell casing on the sidewalk next to the car.

Detectives have been assigned to the case, and both the vehicle and blood-related crime scenes have been processed for evidence, according to police officials.

The victim was treated for his injuries and released from Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
