2 Rollovers Reported In 1 North Fork Crash Sunday Night: Police

One driver also careened into a farmstand, police said.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — Two rollovers were reported in the same crash in Cutchogue Sunday night, police said.

According to Southold Town police, at about 9 p.m., the driver of a Dodge Challenger was traveling westbound on Route 48 in Cutchogue at a high rate of speed and struck a Ford Escape, which was also traveling westbound on Route 48.

The Ford Escape left the roadway and rolled over, striking a farm stand, police said. The driver of the Challenger then lost control and crossed the median, striking a Mercedes SUV that was traveling eastbound on Route 48; the Mercedes also rolled over, police said.

All occupants were taken to either Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital or Peconic Bay Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, police said.

There have been no charges reported yet but detectives are still investigating, police said.
