5 Things to Do: Get Fit, Go Paperless, Play Pétanque

1. Looking for something to do during the nighttime? The Jamesport Fire Department is holding its starting on Tuesday night, and running through Saturday. The carnival starts at 6 p.m. each evening, and a parade will take place Wednesday evenint starting at 7 p.m.

2. La Maison Blanche on Shelter Island is holding its on Tuesday. The $30 entrance fee for each team will go toward the Shelter Island Lions Club. The tournament starts at noon.

3. Is your computer sitting on top of papers - on top of papers - right now in your home office? If so, or if you just want some tips on how to eliminate some of that paper waste around your home, Floyd Memorial Library is hosting a .

4. Want to check out some young, local, musical talents? Drop by Silversmith's Corner in Southold on Tuesday to check out at 6 p.m. for a free show. If you're on Shelter Island, the will offer free concerts Thursday through Saturday of this week starting at 7:30 p.m.

5. As usual, there are a few opportunities to get out and active in the community this upcoming week. Wednesday at 6 p.m. is  Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays each week, Lisa Salmon hosts a at Veterans Memorial Park in the early morning. At Five Branches Wellness, yoga is being held on Tuesday and Thursday, and Zumba on Wednesday. Check our calendar for times.
