Construction Workers Hospitalized After Falling From Scaffolding in Laurel
Mattituck Fire Department responded to mid-day accident on Thursday on a construction site at housing development near Laurel Links.
Two men working on a house in the development nearwere seriously injured Thursday afternoon after falling from scaffolding on the construction site, according to officials.
Second Assistant Chief Vincent Tirelli said that the two men fell about 12 feet from the scaffolding around 12 p.m. and didn't know if their injuries were life-threatening. One man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center, and members of the Mattituck Fire Department transported the other man to in Riverhead for treatment, Tirelli said.
