Dog Left Behind When Owner Moved Has New Leash On Life: 'So Happy'
"He had been in the shelter for too long. Now he has a huge yard and other doggy friends."

NORTH FORK, NY — A puppy left behind on Long Island when his mom had to move has found his new home — and a new leash on life.
Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations at the North Fork Animal Welfare League, said Comet's new mom saw his story on Patch "and immediately called us. She then took the over-an-hour drive to meet him."
Because Comet's new mom has other dogs, on Saturday, the League's dog trainer drove to the "potential new mom’s house to meet her crew. All went great and Comet stayed!"

Stroup added: "We are all so happy. He had been in the shelter for too long. Now he has a huge yard and other doggy friends. Thanks again to Patch!"
"Comet came to us as an older puppy," Stroup said. "He was adopted for eight months and, unfortunately, his mom had to move and could not take him along."
