Dog Trapped Under A North Fork Shed Rescued By Cutchogue Firefighters

Sand was caving in when the dog tried to get out, officials say.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A scared pup trapped under a shed was saved by caring Cutchogue firefighters Saturday.

According to officials, the incident took place at 5:30 p.m. on Fisherman's Beach Road on Nassau Point — sand was caving in when the dog tried to get out.

Cutchogue Fire Department Capt. Joe Hinton, as well as the Southold Police Department, rescued the dog before any fire apparatus arrived.
