Famous Jamesport Restaurant Put on the Market
The restaurant, located on Main Road, was recently listed through North Fork Real Estate.
The now former home of Jamesport Country Kitchen, a well known farm-to-table North Fork restaurant located on 1601 Main Road, is for sale.
The restaurant, which served customers for 26 years before closing last month, went on the market on April 10 and is currently listed for $849,000.
While the property has had other uses in the past since the building was constructed in 1950, Jamesport Country Kitchen has been the most notable.

“It’s an icon,” Sheila Izzo, the listing agent for the property from North Fork Real Estate said. “If you mention Jamesport you know the Jamesport Country Kitchen, it’s a landmark.”
So far, Izzo has received four or five interest inquiries on the restaurant.

The restaurant, which is 2,380 square-feet, includes two kitchens, one with used for catering a walk-in refrigerators and two legal apartments on the second floor, according to the listing.
The property also includes storage, on-site parking for 20 cars, a 1-car garage and a shed, according to the listing.
However, since the property is “hamlet-centered”, it does not need to be a restaurant. There are other possibilities for businesses such as a retail store, a doctor’s office, etc., according to Izzo.
“Personally, I think it’s a gem,” Izzo said. “I think it’s great for a young upcoming chef since they have a lot of their work done for them.”
Since purchasing the restaurant, the owners have made several updates including adding a new computer system, adding a new wine refrigerator, and updating the decor, according to Izzo.
