The hotel, he said, has been featured in numerous publications, "and we expect interest from local, national and overseas investors due to its superior location and asset class.”

Originally built in 1872, the three historic structures comprising The Chequit Inn have been recently renovated with original antiques and new design.

"With incredible water views, The Chequit Inn contains 37 rooms with 10 unique variations, as well as event and meeting space, hardwood floors, ample parking and grounds with room for pool expansion or potential residential conversion," a release said.

The main building on the property totals 12,120 square feet with more than 19 rooms, a 3,500 square foot bar/restaurant, and 1,800 square feet of outdoor space.

Meanwhile, the second structure, known as the “Cottage House’ is a 5,406 square foot building encompassing 11 rooms, and the third building, the “Summer House,” is the smallest totaling 1,200 square feet with just six rooms.

The property is situated in a familiar site to scores who head to Shelter Island, just steps from the North Ferry, Shelter Island Yacht Club, Dering Harbor and Shelter Island Country Club.
