LI Trump Supporter In DC: 'Today Was Beginning Of The Revolution'
"We are mad and it was time for action," said a Long Island woman who was at the Capitol as rioters stormed the building.

LONG ISLAND, NY — A Long Island woman was among those who took her fervor to Washington, D.C., Wednesday, where rioters breached the Capitol to halt the certification of votes for President-elect Joe Biden.
"We went to DC to support our president and our final effort to stop the steal," Heather, who asked that her last name not be used, said. "We needed to show America that we the people are fed up, we are mad and it was time for action. We’re done talking. It’s time to do."
She added: "It is our constitutional right to protest, and that’s exactly what we did. Today was more than supporting our president. Today was the beginning of the revolution. We’re taking back our country."

The crowd overwhelmed Capitol police, who evacuated members of Congress as violence escalated. One woman was shot and individuals broke windows, breached the building and banged on doors, according to reports. The woman who was shot was in critical condition and later died, reports said.
Members of Congress from both parties implored President Donald Trump to quell the violence as the National Guard was deployed. Trump, who moments earlier told the crowd of protesters that he will never concede the election, asked supporters to remain peaceful.

"No violence!" Trump tweeted. "Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order — respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!"
In a televised address, Trump said, "Go home and go home in peace," adding that the "election was stolen" and that he had "won in a landslide."
Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-Shirley, denounced the rioters. "This should never be the scene at the Capitol," he tweeted. "This isn't the America we love. We can debate and disagree, even on Jan. 6 after a Presidential election, but in our republic we elect people to voice our objections in the Capitol on this day."
He added, "There must be zero tolerance for violence in any form! Please listen to our great Capitol Police who need to get control immediately."
Heather has attended many Trump rallies across Long Island, including one in Southold in October where she said she wanted to "get loud. The world needs to see us. The world needs to hear us."
