Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Building: Police
The incident took place early Sunday on Shelter Island, police say.
SHELTER ISLAND, NY — A Wilton, Connecticut man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a building on Shelter Island early Sunday, police said.
According to Shelter Island police, the single-vehicle crash took place at 1:07 a.m. Michael B. Goodwin, 69, was arrested and charged with DWI, first offense, moving from lane unsafely, and driving at a speed not reasonable and prudent, police said.
Goodwin was transported to the Shelter Island Police Department for processing, held overnight for arraignment at Shelter Island Justice Court, and released on his own recognizance and directed to return at a later date, police said.
