NORTH FORK, NY — Day after day, Sally, a people-loving shelter pup whose journey began in Georgia and who was then taken to The League in Southold, sits — patiently waiting for her turn to go home with a family to love her.

"This is one of my favorites," said Gabrielle Stoup, director of operations at the North Fork Animal Welfare League.

Stroup said she first met Sally when visiting the shelter in Georgia. "I instantly fell for her," she said. "She is the most wiggly, giant lap dog."

Sally, she said, is a Weimaraner mix, a little over a year old, and "big," around 70 lbs. She is not fond of cats, Stroup said.

But, Stoup said, Sally is a sweet pup who wins hearts. "She just wants to be with people. She’s been great with kids. This dog deserves someone very special who needs a best friend. She really is the mushiest."
