New, Free Universal Pre-K Program Coming To Cutchogue East

Here's how to enter your child into the lottery.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A new universal pre-K program will soon be unveiled at the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District.

The district, in cooperation with Just Kids, will provide the universal pre-kindergarten program at the Cutchogue East Elementary School for the 2024 to 2025 school year.

The district anticipates that the program will service about 33 students at no charge to families.

Eligibility requirements are as follows: Applicants must be a Mattituck-Cutchogue UFSD resident and provide a copy of proof of residency; a copy of a birth certificate must accompany the application. Applicants must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2024 (born between Dec. 2, 2019 to Dec. 1, 2020). Applicants must be first eligible to attend kindergarten in September 2025.

Application forms have been mailed to district residents. Parents who did not receive an application in the mail can visit the district’s website here to print out an application in English and Spanish, or contact Lisa Bieber at 631-298-4242 ext. 3101.

Students will be selected via lottery on Friday, May 31 at 10 a.m. Completed applications must be returned to the district office by Wednesday, May 29.
