Oysterponds School Budget Passes By Overwhelming Majority

ORIENT, NY – The people have spoken, and the proposed budget for Oysterponds passed by an overwhelming majority of 127 to 8.

The proposed $5,635,498 budget for the 2024 to 2025 year represents a $76,675 dollar difference, or 1.38 percent, and a 4.50 percent tax levy increase, within the district's tax cap limit.

BOE incumbent candidates Erin Johnson and Philip Mastrangelo ran unopposed, Mastrangelo received 128 votes and Johnson 124.
