2 Men Arrested For Stealing Gifts From LI Home On Christmas
The North Babylon and Amityville men allegedly entered a Northport home and stole Christmas presents early Saturday morning.
NORTHPORT, NY—Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing Christmas gifts from under a Northport home's Christmas tree.
According to the Northport Police Department, Omar Urrea of North Babylon, 43, and Gerald Saldana of Amityville, 43, were found in possession of presents taken from a Woodbine Avenue house.
Urrea is charged with second-degree burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of crack cocaine, and he was arraigned. Saldana is charged with criminal possession of stolen property and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 10.
A spokesperson for the Northport Police Department told Patch that the department received a call at 1:27 a.m. on Christmas morning from a resident who said someone had been inside their home and stole gifts. The police found a white van parked nearby, and recovered the gifts.
