Burglaries Reported In East Northport

Jewelry and electronics have been targeted, police said.

Residents have taken note of several burglaries in East Northport, in which homes have been broken into during the day.

According to police, a burglary occurred on Bruce Lane Sept. 3 at 12:45 p.m. The perpetrator was said to have taken jewelry and electronics.

The next day, a home on Greenleaf Drive in Eleood was burglarized. The 911 caller told police that around 12:30 p.m., an unknown person smashed the home's back door window glass and took jewelry including a 2-karat diamond, ruby ring, a diamond watch, necklaces, a silver medallion and a bangle bracelet.

A week earlier, a homeowner reported to police that their home on Grover Lane in East Northport had been broken into on Aug. 27. The subject is believed to have entered through a rear window, however the homeowner reported that nothing was taken.

Residents have stated that similar incidents have recently occurred in the area, including on Autumn Drive and Timber Point Drive, however police did not have details pertaining to them.
