Cinematic Insight into Soul Food
'Soul Food Junkies' coming to Huntington's Cinema Arts Centre.

Take a cinematic journey through the rich culinary tradition and its relevance to black cultural identity at a screening of “Soul Food Junkies” on Wednesday July 10 at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington.
The event and reception is co-presented by Slow Food Huntington, with guest speakers Shelton Walden of WBAI radio’s Walden’s Pond and Leisa Dent, Chef of LL Dent Southern Style Restaurant in Carle Place. A reception with food provided by Chef Dent will follow the screening at 7:30 p.m.

Looking for an outdoor musical experience this weekend: Planting Fields Aboretum has scheduled a free 6 p.m. performance of music by Vivaldi by the Chamber Players International. The rain-or shine show takes place at the Coe Hall Mansion off the West Portico.

Acclaimed songwriters Mary Chapin Carpenter and Marc Cohn will share the stage for special show on Saturday, July 27, at 8 p.m. The duo will perform material spanning their careers along with some of their favorite songs.
