Crash Causes Fuel Spill In Asharoken On Fourth Of July
A car rear-ended a pickup truck, fire officials say.
A crash involving a pickup truck and a car caused a fuel spill in Asharoken on Tuesday afternoon.
According to fire officials, the pickup truck was rear-ended by a car on Asharoken Avenue at 1:45 p.m.
Asharoken Police and the Northport Fire Department responded to the scene. Asharoken Police directed traffic around the crash while Northport firefighters secured the vehicles and applied an absorbent to the road to treat the fuel spill.

No injuries occurred in the crash. This crash was one of three motor vehicle accidents handled by Asharoken Police during the Fourth of July.
Firefighters and EMTs were on the scene with two ambulances, an engine, a heavy rescue truck, fire police and a paramedic unit. All units were under the direction of First Assistant Chief John Jacobsen.
