East Northport FD Holds 110th Annual Installation

The East Northport Fire Department recently held their 110th Annual Installation of Officers at the Larkfield.

Board of Fire Commissioners Chairman William Bootz administered the oath-of-office to Chief of Department Daniel Heffernan, along with First Assistant Chief Daniel Flanagan, and Second Assistant Chief Thomas Bourne.

The following Line and Squad Officers were installed:

• Engine Co. 1 – Captain John McCoy; Lieut. Bryan Gosik
• Engine Co. 2 – Captain Steven Macedonio; Lieut. Brian Hinton
• Hook & Ladder Co. - Captain Matthew Cambria; Lieut. Vincent Pastore
• Rescue Squad – Engine 1: Second Lieut. Katelyn O’Brien; Engine 2: Second Lieut. Rosemarie Sholes; H&L Second Lieut. Barbara Strievski.
• Fire Police – Captain Anthony Casillo; Lieuts. James Wagner and Thomas Noonan; Chief Mechanic John Cetta; Assistant Mechanic Christopher Radimer; Chaplain Charles Murray; Assistant Chaplain William Bootz.

Company Achievement Awards were presented to:

• John Desjardins of Engine Co. 1
• Allison Galofaro of Engine Co. 2
• Joseph Senese of Hook & Ladder Co.
• James Matthews of Rescue Squad
• James Wine of Fire Police

The Paul Mathews Memorial Award was presented to Ex-Captain Roger Putnam. The James Niemczyk Memorial Award was bestowed to Honorary Chief John Cetta.

Service Awards were presented to Ex-Chief Kenneth Hahn for 50 years; James Wine and Steven Lauschus for 30 years; Chief Daniel Heffernan, Robert Esposit, Michael Wine, and Jonathan Mont for 20 years, according to PIO Steve Silverman.

• ENFD 2 - Ex-Chief Ken Hahn, seated, is congratulated by his family after receiving an award from the Chiefs for his 50 years of dedicated service to the East Northport FD. Hahn served as Chief of the Department from 1983-1985.

• ENFD 4 - The Paul Mathews Memorial Award was presented to Ex-Captain Roger Putnam, center, for his outstanding response to ambulance calls.
