Elwood HS Raises $3K For Tunnel To Towers Foundation With Color Run

The foundation helps the widowed families of first responders along with those who have been injured in the line of duty.

ELWOOD, NY — Elwood-John H. Glenn High School recently held its first ever Color Run, hosted by the National Honor Society, Knightline and the class of 2026, the school district announced.

The community event raised $3,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps the widowed families of first responders along with those who have been injured in the line of duty.

Color Run supporters included the Commack and Greenlawn fire departments, Suffolk County Police Department, Elwood Booster Club, Bella Balloons, MVP DJ Entertainment, WBLI Radio, Mozzarella’s Pizza, Theatre Three Productions, Einstein’s Attic, Kids Jiu Jitsu, Fat Boy Burrito, Ralph’s Italian Ices, Greenlawn Hardware, Party City and Paris Baguette.

"This was a great event that not only brought the community together but raised money for such an important cause," teacher Diane Locascio said in a news release. "The Tunnel to Towers
Foundation helped both the families of Master Sgt. Christopher Raguso and Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, who both lost their lives fighting to protect the lives of others. We hope to make this an annual event."
