Elwood Student Wins News12 Scholar Athlete Award
He will receive a $1,000 college scholarship from Bethpage Federal Credit Union and will be featured on News 12.
ELWOOD, NY — James Rourke, a senior at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School, was named a News 12 Scholar Athlete Award winner, the school district announced.
Rourke is set to receive a $1,000 college scholarship from Bethpage Federal Credit Union and will be featured on News 12.
He is a member of the John Glenn Marching Knights band and the school’s track and soccer teams. He is also an Eagle Scout.

“I think it’s a testament to a lot of the coaches that we have here, and the faculty and
the administration that we have in the building,” Rourke said via news release. “It wasn’t a one-man show at all. I’d like to thank my family for all their support through the years and for everyone in this school district for helping me get to this point.”
