ELWOOD, NY — Nolan Reinhardt, a rising senior at Elwood-John H. Glenn High School, was one of 600 students who recently attended the summer 2024 American Legion Boys State citizenship and leadership training program at SUNY Morrisville, where he ran for and was elected governor of Boys State, the Elwood School District announced.

Reinhardt was then chosen to participate in the 78th session of American Legion Boys Nation from July 19-26 at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, where he and 99 other "senators" representing 49 states and the District of Columbia learned from a hands-on approach how the U.S. Senate and the federal government function.

"Nolan is a stand out here at John Glenn, so I am not surprised to see him standing out compared to so many others while earning this prestigious honor," Principal Corey McNamara said in a news release. "Whether it be his award-winning performances on stage during our musicals or his dedication and drive in the classroom, Nolan continues to shine and represent the Elwood community well. We congratulate him and his family for the amazing experience Nolan has made for himself with this opportunity, first at Boys State and now at Boys Nation as well."
