Furiosa, The 'Most Loving Cat': Northport Adoptable Pet Of The Week
Furiosa, a 7-year-old female with Russian Blue-like fur, had a will to live and was brave enough to ask for help. Want to meet her?

NORTHPORT, NY — Furiosa, a beautiful female with Russian Blue-like fur around 7 years old, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.
Furiosa was found at a place of worship, according to Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. She would wait around after services for her favorite young girl to come out and give her some food, said Wild. The young girl always had some treats to give her and then Furiosa would run off to an abandoned building on the property.
"The girl and her dad reached out to us for help," Wild said. "One of our directors and another volunteer tirelessly tried to trap her. She was not doing well, and the other resident cats near this property were mean to her. Once she was finally rescued, it was clear how loving and affectionate she was."

Furiosa needed some TLC and medical treatment, but now she is fully recovered and ready for her forever home, Wild said. Furiosa is slightly hearing impaired — probably from an ear infection that was never treated, Wild said.
"She is the sweetest and most loving cat; all she wants is to be with you and to receive snuggles," Wild said. "How did Furiosa get her name you may ask? She had a will to live and was brave enough to ask for help. Thus, the little girl named her Furiosa, based on a strong, female movie character. She is beyond grateful to be safe and can be visited at Petco Huntington, curled up just waiting for her new family to find her."
