Video: East Northporter Talks Experience as an Islanders Ice Girl

If you have ever been to Nassau Coliseum to watch the New York Islanders take the ice you have also been witness to the Ice Girls – a group of women who clean the ice, get the crowd excited and perform community service activities off the rink.

East Northport has one of its own who took the ice this past season, first-year Ice Girl Ashleen.

Although the season is over for the New York Islanders, Northport Patch caught up with Ashleen, who shared her story of a personal connection with the team, a connection she's had since she was five weeks old.
