Long Island 51st State? NYS Assemblyman Calls For Secession: Report

State Assemblyman Keith Brown called Long Island "an ATM for New York City," according to the report.

ALBANY, NY — New York State Assemblyman Keith Brown (R, C — Northport) called for Long Island to secede from New York and become the 51st state in the union, CNY Central reported.

Brown called Long Island "an ATM for New York City" and said it has enough money and local services to split from the Empire State, CNY Central reported. Brown has not yet put a secession bill forward, but he also said Long Island could be annexed by Connecticut or Rhode Island, according to CNY Central.
