Man Dies After Being Found Unresponsive In Suffolk Pool
An officer pulled the man, 79, out of the water and tried performing CPR, police say.
EAST NORTHPORT, NY — A man died when he drowned in his East Northport pool on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
Officers responded to a 911 call when John Vormbaum, 79, was found unresponsive in a pool on Ketay Drive South at 4:50 p.m.
A Second Precinct officer pulled Vormbaum out of the water and performed CPR. Vormbaum was pronounced dead at Huntington Hospital.
