The man also violated an order of protection, police say. He was arrested earlier this year on similar charges.

An East Northport man faces numerous charges after he forcibly robbed a woman in her home, violated an order of protection and resisted arrest once in custody last week, Northport Police say.

According to authorities, Christopher Loughlin, 49, violated an order of protection by entering a Scudder Avenue home in Northport through an unlocked front door on Wednesday, May 23 at 8 p.m. He then went downstairs into the woman’s residence, threw her to the ground, punched her in the eye and restricted her breathing with his hands around her neck, police say.

Loughlin then forcibly held the woman down while he stole two cell phones, a white Apple iPhone and a pink Samsung Galaxy, and fled on foot, police say.

Police then located Loughlin on the 100-block of Scudder Avenue. He was seen throwing the phones into the weeds in front of a home, police say.

An officer handcuffed Loughlin and attempted to place him in a police car, but he tensed up and attempted to pull away from the officer’s grasp, causing authorities to forcibly place him in the rear seat, police say. He then allegedly attempted to kick an officer while he was being taken to police headquarters.

He was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment, third-degree robbery and resisting arrest.

He was arraigned by Judge Crafa and was unable to post bail. He was then transported to Riverhead Jail.

Loughlin was recently arrested in January for a similar incident on Scudder Avenue. In 2011, he faced harassment and criminal trespass charges.
