Maroni's To Reopen After Owner-Chef's Death

The restaurant famous for its meatballs will reopen after the death of its owner-chef Michael Maroni.

Maroni Cuisine is set to reopen on Wednesday following the death of its owner-chef Michael Maroni.

Maroni, 57, who died after suffering from a medical issue while swimming in his indoor pool on Thursday, will have visiting hours held for him at Nolan Funeral Home in Northport.

According to a sign posted on the restaurant's door, visitation Tuesday is from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

"The Maroni family truly appreciates your heartfelt thoughts and prayers at this difficult time," the sign reads.

Opening in 2001, Maroni Cuisine is known for its tasting menu and pots of meatballs.
