Melange And Amber: Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week

NORTHPORT, NY — Melange and Amber, two bonded sisters born in July, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

Melange is a long-haired tortie, while Amber has beautiful black fur, said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.

Melange is very loving and affectionate and will follow people all over the house, according to Wild.

"She loves to be brushed and has the most beautiful long fur," Wild said.

She loves to play with her sister, Amber.

"Speaking of Amber, she can be timid, but if given the chance, once she trusts, she will purr up a storm while being pet," Wild said. "She loves to play, and they both even like dogs."

The duo is currently at Doggie Don’s in East Northport. They love visitors, Wild said.

"Amber may be curled up in her little tent, but Melange will come say 'hi' for them both," she said. "Shy kittens just need some patience, and there really is nothing more rewarding than getting them to trust you with that first head bump. Please consider giving them a chance."

Melange and Amber are spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
