Mother/Daughter Communication Workshop, More

Hello and welcome to the Tuesday edition of "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

1. Weather: A chance of showers after 11 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 66. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

2. Mother/Daughter Communication Workshop: The early teenage years can be a frustrating time for both mothers and daughters often involving many tears and unrest. To better help ease this transition,  It’s Complicated will focus on enhancing the important skills and vital connections necessary for opening the lines of communication and promoting healthy dialogue. 6 p.m. at 7 Diane Court (Youth Direction Alternatives).

3. Northport Planning Board: The Northport Planning Board meets in Village Hall at 7 p.m.
