Motorcyclist Critically Hurt In East Northport Crash
The motorcycle and an SUV collided on Saturday afternoon, police say.

A motorcyclist was critically injured after he collided with an SUV in East Northport on Saturday afternoon, police say.
According to authorities, a 51-year-old East Northport resident was operating a 1998 BMW motorcycle westbound on Clay Pitts Road when he collided with an eastbound 2005 Toyota SUV that was attempting to make left turn onto Oakledge Drive at 2:25 p.m.
The motorcyclist was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to an area hospital to be treated for critical injuries.

The driver of the Toyota, 56-year-old Smithtown resident Joseph Pavone, was taken to Huntington Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
