Northport 4x800 Relay Wins State Title
The relay also placed third at New Balance Indoor National Championships.

Members of Northport High School’s Suffolk County Championship Boys Track and Field Team dominated the State Championship on Mar. 5, capturing the State Title and placing second overall in the New York State Federation.
Less than a week later, the four members of the team placed third in the 4 x 800-meter relay in the New Balance Indoor National Championships, held at the Armory in Manhattan on Mar. 10. For this placement, student-athletes Elijah and Isaiah Claiborne, Dan O’Connor and Thomas Fodor earned All-American Honors.
They now hold the fastest indoor time in Suffolk County, surpassing West Islip’s indoor record from 2016.

In addition, Isaiah Claiborne placed 4th in the mile, earning All-American honors for the 5th time.
“These young men are truly remarkable,” said Northport-East Northport Athletic Director Mark Dantuono, “each of them possess an unparalleled will to push themselves beyond limits.”
