Northport Adoptable Pets Of The Week: Phantom, Mickey, Frankie, Starry

NORTHPORT, NY — Are you looking for a pair of kittens? If so, consider Phantom and Mickey or Frankie and Starry, the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kittens of the Week.

All four kittens are 6 months old.

"We know many adopters want those cute little babies…and we do have them in our rescue; and of course, any adoption is a wonderful thing," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue. "However, please don’t forget about these four babies. Because just three short months ago, they were as tiny as our youngest available kittens."

These four have been passed over, which Wild said happens.

"Sometimes the most amazing and loving and friendly kittens and cats get overlooked," she said. "They end up growing up in our habitats; but they all started out in foster care. They have all been handled and loved. They have all been exposed to other kittens or cats and even dogs. Their personalities are known. We know they get along with other cats and people. They have to be from being in our habitats. Many of them play together when they get let out. Many different volunteers' loving hands have held them and loved them. They are still babies… they are still longing for their homes…for a family of their own. They have watched many come and go since they have been with us."

Phantom and Mickey’s brother was adopted, but these two are "very bonded and ready," Wild said.

"They are so affectionate and loving, snuggling up with any person that is willing to hold them. They are gentle and silly and very playful and get along wonderfully with other cats too!"

Starry and Frankie met in foster care and became the best of friends, according to Wild.

"Frankie is a gentle soul, quiet and loving," she said. "Starry was rescued from a person’s property that was planning on using her as a 'mouser.' She certainly deserved a happier life than that, and was such a sweetheart in foster care, often crying when Frankie was out of her sight. They both even fell in love with the dog they were being fostered with … they are ready."

All four of these fur babies are waiting at Petco Commack. Wild said they have been "waiting way too long, actually."

"They are starting to lose their spark and so we hope their family is out there somewhere!"

They are neutered and spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
