Voters Approve Northport Budget, Elect Trustees

Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Northport-East Northport residents approved a 2018-19 school budget on Tuesday.

The $166,810,381 budget passed with 2,287 yes votes and 754 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 2.15 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.10 percent tax levy increase.

Residents also elected incumbent David Stein, incumbent David Badanes and Victoria Buscareno to the Northport-East Northport Board of Education.
