Northport Cops Make Arrests for Heroin And Other Drugs

Recent arrests by Northport Police.

Here are some of the recent arrests made in Northport. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below.

Derek Loper, 23, of Huntington Station, was charged on Jan. 4 with criminal sale of a controlled substance after police said he exchanged $170 for 20 wax paper sleeves of heroin on Sept. 24, 2014.

Peter Kraus, 26, of Northport was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (Alprazolam and Suboxone) and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument on Jan. 4.

Dillon Noseda, 25, of Northport, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance (heroin), criminal possession of a hypodermic syringe, and unlawful possession of marijuana for an incident that occurred on Dec. 28.

Michael McCarthy, 33, of Huntington, was arrested for driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument on Jan. 3.

Additional drug arrests include:

  • An 18-year-old Commack woman charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic needles on Woodbine Avenue for an incident that occurred on Dec. 26
  • An East Northport man, 20, charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of hypodermic needles on Waterside Avenue for an incident that occurred on Dec. 28.

DWIs

After an unsafe lane change, Marian Klein, 50, of Eatons Neck, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Dec. 31.

After learning of a car struck by another vehicle said to be driven by an intoxicated driver, police located and charged Filip Rodenko, 18 of Queens, on Jan. 1 for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
