Northport High School Marching Band on TV

The Northport High School Marching Band will be featured in MSG Varsity’s special “The Marching Bands” airing on Thanksgiving Day on Optimum channel 14 from 2-5 p.m.

The three-hour television event captures 47 of the most talented marching band programs on Long Island in the 50th Annual Newsday Marching Band Festival. Featured will be interviews with band leaders, student participants, commentary from MSG Varsity’s Keith Irrizarry and sideline reporting from Suzy Stark.

Held each October at Hofstra University, the three-day Newsday Marching Band Festival is an annual exhibition presenting some of Long Island’s most talented high school marching bands. A portion of the ticket sales goes to each of the participating high school bands, as well as the Newsday Marching
Band Grant program that assists Hofstra music students in their studies.
