Northport High School Scores Big at DECA Conference

Students brought home nearly 30 medals.

Thirty-six Northport High School students recently attended the New York State Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Career Conference in Rochester, New York.

DECA is a business club for students interested in marketing, management, entrepreneurship and finance. It is run by business teachers Kristen Cogan and Liz Price.

Congratulations to Blake Ferris, Spencer Fishstein, Tyler DuPont and Ryan Adell for qualifying for the National DECA Competition this spring in Orlando, Florida. In order to qualify for the national conference, students needed to place in the top five overall in both exam and role-play events at the DECA State Conference. A special congratulations to Ryan Adell for receiving the highest exam score out of the 1,423 exams taken at the conference.
