Northport Hotel Set To Open Late 2022; General Manager Named
The three-story hotel will feature 26 luxury guestrooms and an Italian steakhouse.

NORTHPORT, NY — The Northport Hotel is getting closer to opening.
The three-story boutique hotel, home to 26 luxury guestrooms and an Italian steakhouse, is expected to open in late 2022, according to the hotel. The building is at 225 Main Street.
Michael Lang was hired as the hotel's general manager, according to a news release.

Lang will be intimately involved in overseeing all aspects of the pre-opening efforts. From staffing strategy to hotel programming to restaurant planning, Lang will bring more than 30 years of experience to the hotel.
“As The Northport Hotel’s story continues to unfold, we looked for a seasoned hospitality executive who understood not just the industry but the philosophy behind the property and the experience that The Northport Hotel plans to provide its guests,” owner Kevin O’Neill stated. “Michael embraced the warm, welcoming ways of our vision. His experience, especially as it relates to the Long Island market, will be an asset to the evolution of our hotel.”

Lang most recently served as the director of food and beverage at Danford’s Hotel & Marina, as well as the Waterview at Port Jeff Country Club. He previously served in hotel operations and food and beverage at major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Radisson, Doubletree & Embassy Suites. His resume includes overseeing rooms, food and beverage, engineering, security, and housekeeping. Lang was awarded the Interstate Hotels Eye on Service Award in Food & Beverage for all Interstate Hotels North American Properties.

Lang is a lifelong Long Island resident. He lives with his wife, Jeannine, and their dog, Zoey, in Medford. He is a graduate of Hilton College at the University of Houston, where he earned a bachelor of science in hotel and restaurant management. In his free time, Lang enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, reading, and a good bottle of Cabernet.
