NORTHPORT, NY — Northport High School has a new set of champions. The school's field hockey team took home the New York State Class A championship following an undefeated 21-0 season.

Olivia McKenna scored the only goal of the game with an assist from Shannon Smith, securing the 1-0 win over Shenendehowa.

This win was especially meaningful for the team, which captured the Long Island championship last season but did not have the opportunity to play a state championship due to the coronavirus pandemic. The team coined the hashtag “#NotDoneYet” to signify that they weren’t finished with their domination of the sport and winning streak.
