Northport Kids Make Serious Lemonade

How do you beat the heat? These middle schoolers turn lemons in lemonade.

A pair of friends and have found a way to turn the heat wave to their advantage.

John, 11, and James, 12, have set up a lemonade stand in the park between Cherry Street and Soper Avenue in Northport. It's a highly trafficked route and one that apparently paid off. The duo took in $30 Friday before an afternoon thunderstorm forced them to close.

They plan to be open for business Saturday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. A glass of lemonade will set you back 25 cents.
