Northport PD Blotter: 2 Charged W/ Unauthorized Practice Of Profession
ALSO: Woman saved from overdose; officers rescue injured bird; dog attacks deer; and trees fall on multiple roads, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Aug. 5 through Aug. 11.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
Arrests

- Jing Fang Zhou, 50, of Flushing, was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession on Fort Salonga Road on Aug. 8.
- Lisi Ou, 38, was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession on Fort Salonga Road on Aug. 9.
Incidents
- Someone was issued several tickets instead of being arrested on Aug. 5 after they left the scene of a crash.
- A boater caused a large wake in Northport Harbor after speeding in excess of 10 mph on Aug. 5.
- An injured bird was found on James Street on Aug. 6. Police brought the bird to a wooded area, where it flew off.
- A dog got loose on Fifth Avenue on Aug. 6. The woman who found it said the dog did not have a name tag on it. An officer told the woman that the department is familiar with the dog and the owner will be contacted to retrieve the dog. The officer contacted the owner to come retrieve the dog and issued them a field appearance ticket for an unleashed dog.
- Someone was issued several tickets instead of being arrested on Aug. 8 after they drove without a license or interlock device.
- A tree fell on Ocean Avenue on Aug. 9, blocking the road. Officers moved the large branch to the side of the road.
- A dog reportedly attacked a deer on Cairo Avenue on Aug. 9. The caller told police the animals ran off. Police could not find the dog or deer.
- Downed tree branches were blocking roads such as Main Street, Fox Lane and Scudder Avenue on Aug. 9.
- Two cars collided on Fort Salonga Road on Aug. 10. A driver said he was attempting to back out a spot in his Chevy when he collided into a parked Audi causing very minor damage. Both parties declined an accident report.
- Summonses were issued to the owners of multiple vehicles parked illegally on Bayview Avenue on Aug. 10.
- A woman overdosed on Malcolm's Landing on Aug. 10. An officer administered Narcan, which caused the woman to regain consciousness. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
- Police were called to Municipal Lot #2 for an argument on Aug. 11. A father said he was upset with the a man allegedly taking pictures of his daughter and making his wife feel uncomfortable so he confronted him. The man did have many pictures of his dog on his phone with children downtown hugging the dog, which he showed willingly to the officer, police said. Police told the father that none of the pictures are illegal because they are all in public view and of the man's dog. The parent was advised to have his daughter and wife stay away from the man to avoid any further conflicts.
