Northport PD Blotter: Man Charged With DWI Used No Headlights At Night
The man had a revoked non-driver ID, police say. ALSO: Oven fire extinguished; papers burned on driveway; police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from July 21 through July 28.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Pedro Godoy, 33, of Central Islip, was driving a 2009 Nissan on Main Street without his headlights on around 11 p.m. July 25, police said. An officer stopped Godoy and smelled alcohol coming from his breath, police said. Godoy had bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech, police said. Godoy performed poorly on several standardized field sobriety tests, police said. Godoy had a revoked non-driver ID, the officer determined after checking New York Department of Motor Vehicles records, police said. Godoy refused to take a chemical test, police said. His motor vehicle was seized as per the Suffolk County forfeiture law, police said. Godoy was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration, unlicensed operation, no insurance, no inspection, consumption of alcohol in vehicle and no headlights.
Incidents
- A tree fell on Cherry Street on July 23, blocking part of the road. The Northport Highway Department was notified to remove it.
- Northport firefighters extinguished an oven fire on Scudder Place on July 23.
- A vehicle was towed for parking in a no-parking zone in Municipal Lot #4 on July 23.
- A woman was warned and admonished for burning papers in her driveway on Scudder Avenue on July 23.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a Kia that was taking up two spots near Rockin' Fish on Main Street on July 24.
- Summonses were issued to the drivers of multiple illegally parked vehicles near Saint Paul's Methodist Church on July 26.
- A Franklin Street woman was told she could not mow her lawn after 6 p.m. as per village code. The incident was reported July 26.
- A sinking vessel was reported at Village Dock on July 28. The boat owner responded immediately.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle blocking a Bayview Avenue driveway on July 28.
