Northport Police Blotter: Driver Ticketed Over Open Alcoholic Beverage

ALSO: Large spider euthanized; teenagers stopped from playing prank on resident, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Oct. 7 through Oct. 13.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • A woman was told by police she was not allowed to sell the random items she had at Cow Harbor Park on Oct. 7.
  • Police euthanized a large spider on Bayview Avenue on Oct. 7.
  • An officer on patrol stopped a driver who became "uncooperative and irate" during the stop, at 4:41 p.m. Oct. 13 on Fort Salonga Road. The officer saw an opened container of White Claw Surge, containing 8 percent alcohol by volume, in the vehicle. The passenger surrendered the White Claw, and the driver was issued three traffic summonses.
  • Officers helped a woman with a flat tire on Main Street on Oct. 13. She was able to drive home thanks to the assistance.
  • Officers spotted teenagers on Dolphin Lane around 8:30 p.m. Oct. 13. The teenagers said they were on the property to play a prank on the resident who called police. The teenagers were released to their parents and warned and admonished. The caller was satisfied.
