Northport Police Blotter: Injured Deer Euthanized; Loose Dog
ALSO: Someone was asked to stop using a snowblower at 12:30 a.m. one morning; woman gets unsealed letter from Social Security, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from Feb. 3 through Feb. 9.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- Someone was running a snowblower at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 3 on School Street. An officer told the person that they can not be running loud machinery at that time. They agreed to stop using the snowblower.
- A dog got loose on Main Street on Feb. 4. Police searched the area but could not find the dog.
- A vehicle drove into the woods on Fort Salonga Road on Feb. 5. Northport police assisted Suffolk police with the incident.
- An injured deer was found in the roadway on Locust Road on Feb. 5. An officer euthanized the deer and notified the Northport Highway Department to remove it from the roadway.
- Police were called to Oak Street on Feb. 5 for a report of mail that was delivered unsealed. A woman told police she received a letter in the mail from Social Security that was unsealed. The officer told the caller to freeze and monitor all of her accounts in which she agreed to do. The woman said she would contact the police department if anything happened with her accounts.
- The police were called for a report of a group of kids ice skating on a pond on Harbour Point Drive on Feb. 8. The kids were exiting the ice when police arrived.
- Police were called to Stone Drive for a report of low-hanging tree limbs on Feb. 9. The Northport Highway Department was to be notified of the resident's concerns.
