Northport Police Blotter: Man Drove With Suspended License
ALSO: Alcohol theft; stolen mail and cashed money orders; good Samaritan turns in lost wallet; and more, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from May 5 through May 11.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A Chinese takeout eatery on May 5 requested an affidavit be canceled, so the person who was banned could return to the restaurant.
- An employee of Cork Tree Fine Wines reported the theft of alcohol after someone used fraudulent credit cards on May 6.
- Youths riding motorized bicycles at Village Park were admonished by police on May 6.
- Police found a loose dog on Oak Street on May 7 and brought it to North Shore Veterinary
Hospital for safekeeping. The owner came to retrieve their dog. - A man was issued tickets instead of being arrested after he drove without a valid license on School Street on May 8, police said. His license had been suspended multiple times, he had an invalid inspection certificate, he was driving with improper plates, he did not have insurance, and his vehicle was unregistered, police said.
- A wallet found at Nest on Main was turned into police headquarters on May 8. Its owner came to retrieve the wallet.
- An active chimney fire broke out at a Starlit Drive on May 9. Suffolk police and the Northport Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire.
- An 80-year-old woman fainted at The Firefly Artists on May 10. Northport Rescue brought her to Huntington Hospital.
- Someone walked into police headquarters on May 11 to report stolen mail and cashed money orders.
- Someone found a pocketbook on Main Street and gave it to police. Officers contacted the owner.
