Northport Police Blotter: Multiple Hit-And-Runs Reported
ALSO: "Vicious husky" gets loose; hot tub catches fire; woman's car damaged; deer damages soccer net; and more, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from June 2 through June 8.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- A deer damaged a soccer net on Hillside Place on June 3.
- A woman reported minor damage to her vehicle on June 4. She believes her car was struck while it was parked at Starbucks on Fort Salonga Road between 3 and 5:30 p.m.
- A dog got loose on Scudder Place on June 5. An officer found the dog and returned it to its owner.
- A driver fled the scene of a crash on Bayview Avenue on June 5, someone told police.
- A group of youths reportedly damaged the gazebo at Constitution Square on June 6, someone told police.
- Someone was issued a ticket instead of being arrested after police said they fled the scene of a crash on Bayview Avenue on June 6.
- A driver reportedly left the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Ocean Avenue on June 7, police said.
- A woman suffered injuries from a dog bite on Main Street on June 8. She declined medical advice, police said.
- A hot tub caught fire on Franklin Street on June 8.
- Smoke was reported at a Woodside Avenue home on June 8. A spatula was left on the stove top which caused the smoke, according to police. The Northport Fire Department responded and ventilated the house.
- Summonses were issued to the drivers of vehicles that were illegally parked on Bayview Avenue on June 8.
- A "vicious husky" got loose on Scudder Place around 7:20 p.m. June 8, police said. The dog's owner was ticketed in lieu of being arrested, police said.
