Northport Police Blotter: Officers Help Woman Overdosing On Alcohol

ALSO: License plate stolen; good Samaritan finds purse and turns it into police; and man drove without valid license, police say.

NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from March 24 through March 30.

The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • A man was issued four summonses instead of being arrested in connection with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Main Street on March 25, police said.
  • A woman was overdosing on alcohol on Asharoken Beach around 3:15 p.m. March 26. Northport police remained until Suffolk police arrived.
  • Police were called to Crab Meadow Beach on March 27 for a report of a stolen license plate. An officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle at Waterside Avenue and Locust Road. The officer interviewed the driver, who stated the front plate was stolen off of the vehicle a few days ago. The officer explained to the driver that the other existing plate on the vehicle must be surrendered to the DMV.
  • A small brush fire was reported on Eatons Neck Road on March 27. An officer put the fire out, and the Northport Fire Department chief deemed the area safe.
  • Someone found a purse on a bench on Main Street around 2 p.m. March 29. The purse contained a credit card and miscellaneous items. The man turned the purse into police headquarters.
