Northport Police Blotter: Teens Trespass On Boat; Beached Car
ALSO: Argument over parking spaces; deer struck by car; and car drives onto side lawn and over sprinkler system, police say.
NORTHPORT, NY — Check out some recent police incidents for the Northport Village area from June 17 through June 23.
The Northport Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

- A car went off the road on Fort Salonga Road on June 17.
- A vehicle got stuck on Steers Beach, approximately 200 feet from the parking lot, around 7:20 p.m. June 17. Depalo and Sons towing responded but was unable to tow the vehicle. Ninth Street Auto was then contacted and was able to recover the vehicle.
- A dog got loose on Scudder Avenue around 11:25 a.m. June 18.
- A dead raccoon was found on Fort Salonga Road on June 18. Police disposed of it.
- A summons was issued to the driver of a vehicle parked in a "no standing anytime" zone on Bayview Avenue on June 18.
- A group of teens causing excessive noise at Village Park around 2:40 a.m. June 19 was asked to leave, which they did.
- A financial scam was reported on Nautilus Avenue on June 19. No further information was given.
- SLA checks were performed at Salted. On The Harbor, Main Street Cafe, Pumpernickels Restaurant, and Robkes Country Inn on June 19. No violations were observed at any restaurant.
- SLA checks were performed at Harbor House, Bistro 44, The Northport Hotel, and Skipper's Pub on June 20. No violations were observed at any restaurant.
- A group of youths was trespassing on a boat at Seymour's Boat Yard on June 20. Police spoke with the youths, who said they knew the owner. The owner confirmed he knew the kids but asked police to tell the youths they do not have permission to be on the boat. Police warned and admonished the youths, and the owner was satisfied.
- Police were called to Church Street for a report of an argument over a parking space on June 21. Police found the man "visibly agitated and yelling. After the officer calmed the man down, he told the officer that when he pulled into the parking lot at a business, the lot was full, he could not find a parking spot, and there was a vehicle without a handicapped permit parked in a handicapped space. The officer noted that the parking lot was empty, and there was a vehicle legally parked in the handicapped space with a valid handicapped permit. The caller and multiple business patrons all said that the lot was empty and that the man came into each open business and started yelling. The man was warned and admonished by police and left the area.
- Police were called to Washington Place on June 21 for a report of a man on a Ring camera. The man told the officer that he was trying to pick up his ladders from a painting job. The homeowner was re-contacted and said she had fired the painters and she did not want them on the property. Police contacted the painting company owner, who said their equipment is still at the house somewhere and that they need to retrieve it. The business owner was advised not to go to the property again until prior arrangements with the homeowner were made, to which he agreed. The homeowner was told.
- A woman struck a deer while driving on Ocean Avenue on June 21. The vehicle sustained no damage and the deer ran off into the woods.
- SLA checks were performed at Rockin' Fish, the John W. Engeman Theater, Napper Tandy's, Gunther's Tap Room, and Feed and Grain on June 21. No violations were observed at any restaurant.
- An injured opossum was found on Rutledge Avenue on June 23. Police euthanized and removed the opossum.
- A Sea Cove Road man said a vehicle parked on his side lawn and drove over his sprinkler system on June 23. Police could not contact the vehicle owner but issued a summons. There was no damage to the sprinkler system.
- The driver of a vehicle parked illegally on Bayview Avenue was issued a summons on June 23.
- A husky got loose on June Avenue on June 23. Officers were able to catch the dog and
return it home. A man said he was dog sitting for his nephew and as he was trying to take the dog for a walk, it ran away. The officer told the man that further calls for the loose dog will result in a citation being served.
