Nor'easter Hits Northport: Share Your Photos

A Nor'easter dumped a slushy mix of rain and snow on Long Island Wednesday with wind gusts up to 60 mph, upsetting trees and powerlines compromised by Hurricane Sandy last week.

The heaviest snow is expected to occur overnight, according to the National Weather Service, with 2-4 inches of total accumulation possible. Share your storm photos by signing in and clicking "upload."

Parts of the LIE were closed earlier due to ice and snow buildup. Police could not confirm when the ramps would reopen, but said it would depend on how quickly plows and sand trucks would be able to clear the area of ice and snow, according to Syosset Patch.

The Nor'Easter has also affected the LIRR. At about 8 p.m., some limited eastbound service resumed from Penn Station and Atlantic Terminal, but residual delays persist. Penn Station has reopened.
