Pick Up After Your Dog Or Pay A Fine, Northport Police Say
The parks could become less dog-friendly if improvements aren't made.

Residents are reminded to pick up after their dogs on public property in Northport Village after authorities received an influx of community complaints.
Owners who don’t pick up after their dogs are subject to a fine. And if this trend continues, it could result in a policy change to make parks less dog-friendly, police say.
“It has been a long-standing tradition for Village of Northport to make our parks dog friendly,” Northport Police said in a statement. “However, dog owners have the responsibility to pick up after their dogs have done their business.”
