Police Log: Boy Suffers Head Injury, 'Suspicious' Lunch

Monday, May 7

At 8:42 p.m., police received a report of a homeowner's son refusing to leave her Mar Kan Drive residence despite her recently renting an apartment for him. She doesn't want him in her home, she told police. The son said he would leave and did so without incident.

At 2:47 p.m., police received a report of a possibly suspicious package at Constitution Square. Police responded and determined someone had just walked away from his lunch for a few moments.

At 3:14 p.m., police received a report of a consignment item that contained an unknown powder-like substance on Main Street. Police determined the substance was likely an old prescription medication that had ruptured.

Wednesday, May 23

At 1:48 p.m., police responded to Ocean Avenue School for a boy who was suffering from a head injury. Northport Rescue took him to Huntington Hospital. The boy's mother was at the scene, police say.

Saturday, May 26

At 3:06 p.m., police responded to the report of an unoccupied sailboat that had run aground in Northport Harbor. The sailboat's owner was notified.

At 8:23 p.m., a woman came in to headquarters on Main Street to ask if anyone had filed a report against her. Police informed the woman that no reports had been filed against her in the Village.
